Jim, thanks for setting this up.  Prayers are always welcome.  I would request them for my wife Linda as she is battling Stage 4 breast cancer.  We pray that the chemo she is receiving will contain the cancer and prevent it from spreading and growing, and at the same time she can maintian a good lifestyle.  God has and continues to be very good to us, and she battles this cancer with a peace and hope that only God can give.  Thanks in advance and may your hearts be filled with the peace of God that comes through his death and resurrection.  Orlie

Hope all who read this had a very blessed Resurrection Day Celebration.  Christ rose not just to give us eternal life but also to give us life in the midst of our human circumstances.  I want to thank all of you for your prayers on behalf of my wife and her battle with cancer.  The last scan came back with a good report.  Some of the small tumors have disappeared and the larger ones have been reduced in size.  The goal of chemo is to prevent any new ones, and keep the ones there from getting larger.  God through the chemo has gone beyond our expectations and continually gives us hope and peace.

Our friend and former teacher Chuck Henke is in a rehab home in Butler, Indiana, after falling and injuring himself.  Please pray that he will be able to heal enough to return home if that is possible.  If not, pray for peace and contentment in his new surroundings.  He sends this message, "The Lord's blessing to everyone!"

Tom Staak who is a member of our reunion committee and was looking forward to our reunion will probably not be able to attend the reunion because of health issues.  Tom has asked us to pray for him and his wife Sharon who will be in California for the next two months.  Tom has been diagnosed with cancer and will be receiving chemo and radiation treatments for the next two months at a clinic there.  In addition, Sharon has been hospitalized twice while they were there because of recurring problems with pneumonia related to cancer issues with her throat.  While in California they stay with their daughter Alison.  Please communicate your support for Tom and Sharon through the website or by a letter.  Their address is 4028 Astaire Avenue, Culver City, CA 90232.

Please pray for Cheryl (Lindeman) Markey as well who has told us she will have multiple surgeries before the reunion and may also not be able to attend because of that.

Yes, Susan, I agree...let's keep praying for each other.  I looked at the new pictues posted tonight and saw Tom and Sharon and prayed for God to heal and uplift them through all their struggles.  Also Lin Trier in her fight with cancer and Cheryl with her health challenges.   God bless you all and restore you once again to health.  I know there are other kinds of challenges many are facing...and pray that God will give you the strength, courage and faith to walk through the challenge with the Lord and have victory.  We were blessed to be part of a very special class and I look forward to seeing you soon.  "I'll see you in September."

Carla Wadewitz Ternieden has asked for prayer for her son, Cesar and his wife, Fabienne and their daughter, Maya as well as the new baby on the way.  They live in Cairo, Egypt.  Her son is an international lawyer.  Right now his wife and daughter are still in France while the civil unrest is happening in Egypt.  He is living in a self imposed "house arrest" as he tries to stay uninvolved in the chaos.  Please pray for his safety, for all his needs to be met, for his peace and also for the family to know when and what to do...for their safety....when/if his wife and daughter should return to Cairo.  Thank you.  Carla will be at the reunion :),  so we can find out more then. 

Along with that, let's pray for all the Christians in Egypt who are now targets of violent Islamists.

Please pray for Barb Weimer Tuck who recently lost  her husband Richard  with whom she shared married life for 42 years.  He had had brain cancer for nearly two years losing the earthly battle on August 9.   We encourage all of you to pray for Barb during this difficult time and send her your condolences as well.

Greetings this Advent season, as we celebrate Christ's daily coming into our lives, while we look forward to celebrated the events of that first Christmas.  Linda and I each day pray that we can see God's presence and working in our lives.  We need to pay attention to what he is doing in the midst of circumstances in our life that are beyond our earthly control.  For the last four months we have intensified Linda's chemo three times,  The last one produced some serious side affects that put her in the hospital for six days.  She is now home and I have learned how to draw fluid from around the lungs on a daily basis.  Next week we have a meeting with the oncologist to make some decisions.  It is coming down to deciding between quality or quantity.

We ask for prayers as we go through this decision process, and most importantly we ask for prayers that we can continually see the presence of God in all that we do and that we continue to find our strength and peace in our relationship with him.
