50 Year Reunion

Here are final details regarding the reunion schedule. 

Friday, September 20

11:30 A.M.  - Annual CLHS Florida Scramble Golf Tournament at Cherry Hill Golf Club - If you are interested in playing, contact Ralph Traycoff through our website.  Ralph will be putting our teams together.  Lunch at 11:30 with shotgun start around 12:30 P.M.  Cost - $85 for meal and 18 holes of golf with the possibility of great prizes.

5:30 P.M. - Informal gathering at home of Donn and Diane Werling at 7629 Moeller Road near New Haven.  Donn will be giving tours of the historic property, and a catered meal will be served by the Orchid including sandwiches, fruit, veggies, etc.  Good food and great fellowship.  There will be no cost for this evening thanks to the generosity of one of our classmates!  Please subtract this from your registration sheet which indicates there is a cost.

7:00 P.M. - CLHS Homecoming Game at CLHS.  Cost - $5.00 at the gate. 

Saturday, September 21

Morning and Afternoon - Johnny Appleseed Festival in Johnny Appleseed Park across river from CLHS

5:45 P.M. - Social hour begins at 5:45 PM with class picture at 6:45 before entering the banquet hall  at Holiday Inn across from Coliseum - The hotel is offering rooms for us at $99 per night indluding free breakfast if anyone needs housing.  The direct phone number to the hotel is 260/579-9136.  Mention you are from our reunion to get the special price.  If you can get a better rate another way, feel free to do so.   

The meal for the banquet is buffet style including beef, chicken, and fish along with salads and other side dishes.  Cost - $50 per person includes copy of reunion booklet.  Pictures from that evening will be added to the website.

Sunday, September 22

10:00 AM - Tour of CLHS.  If you have never seen the new building, you will be impressed.  If you haven't seen it for a while, you will also be impressed by the new additions in the past few years.  Also, if you haven't been back for a while, the old Zollner Stadium has been torn down, and a new beautiful one erected in its place which keeps much of the old style in place.  

11:00 AM - Church service with Communion led by classmates Ken Haugk and Tom Schoenherr.  The service will be held in the small chapel just inside the main entrance to the school on the left.  A great ending to a great weekend!

Afternoon - Johnny Appleseed Festivities continue

If you have suggestions for other activites or ideas for our program, feel free to let us know.  If you cannot attend but desire a reunion booklet, the cost will be $10.  This option is included with the registration form.  IMPORTANT: If any of the above costs would keep you from attending, please let us know.  We do not want anyone to be kept from attending because of cost.  The Class of '62 helped several members with costs last year, and we will be happy to do the same.

Directions: We have included a map for the Friday evening event since it is more difficult to find than the Holiday Inn. The actual location marker is a little off as Google is wont to do in rural areas, but there will be balloons and signs to guide you. The important thing is being able to find Moeller Road. The Holiday Inn is directly across from the Coliseum on Coliseum Boulevard which should be easy to find.
